E-Books: Getting Started with Overdrive

How to Access Robert College eBooks

OverDrive is our digital library offering both eBooks and audiobooks to Robert College students and staff, anytime, anywhere! Sora is the new user-friendly platform that lets you access books through your laptop, phone or tablet.


Step One: Install the "Sora, by OverDrive" app on your device from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to

Step Two: In Sora, find your school, then sign in with the first part of your email address and your school password.

Step Tree: If on a computer, browse the collection using the Explore tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away.

Step Four: If on a mobile device, click on the binocular image  at the bottom of the page, and click on the school name. From here you can browse the books. Click on borrow, to borrow a book

Step Five: Close the book and go to your Shelf to see all your books. From there, you can:

  • Click or tap Open Book or Open Audiobook to read or listen to the book.
  • Click or tap Options to renew or return the book, get to your notes and highlights, and more.

How to Login to Overdrive

Classic Overdrive

Step One: Click the Overdrive Link, or login to our Overdrive database

Step Two: Login with the first part of your school email address and your school email password. 

Step Three: Search/Browse for items.

Step Four: Click Borrow, or if the book is out, click the Hold button so you can get it when it is returned.

Step Five: Read the book by clicking Read. Do not click download unless you want to read the book on an eReader or in Adobe Digital Editions. You will not be able to take notes if you use Download.

Step Six: If you want to listen to an audiobook, click Listen. If you want to listen to the book offline click download the MP3 format.
