FORMAT: EBOOK ACCESSED FROM DATABASE (for example OverDrive)

 Author(s). Title of eBook. Place of publication: Publisher, Date. Database. Medium of Publication. Date Accessed.

FORMAT: EBOOK ON ELECTRONIC READER (for example Kindle or Kobo)

Author(s). Title of eBook. Place of publication: Publisher, Date. Medium of Publication.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

AUTHORS: Treat eBook situations with multiple authors, missing authors, or authors with multiple works just as you'd treat the print book.

MEDIUM OF PUBLICATION FOR EBOOKS ACCESSED ON ELECTRONIC READER: Treat eBooks that you read on your electronic device (Kindle, iPad, etc.) like you would treat a print book. For “Medium of Publication” refer to the type of electronic file (ex. Kindle file, Nook file, EPUB file, or PDF file. If there is no recognizable file type, or you cannot identify it, please use Digital file.

EBOOKS ACCESSED FROM DATABASE: If you are citing an eBook you’ve accessed via library database (EBSCO eBooks, Overdrive, etc.), you’ll need to treat that a bit differently. You’ll need to include the Database, Medium of Publication, and the Date Accessed.
